Olawale Yakubu has been in the forefront of tourism management and tourism/hospitality research for well over 15 years, an avid supporter of sustainable tourism development initiatives especially in rural developing communities. A key member of the Lagos State Eco Tourism master-plan Project, he is also a senior staff at the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, working in various capacity in the Research and Development Unit, instrumental in identifying, harnessing and developing the medical tourism potentials of Lagos State and also seeking new inroads in medical tourism promotions and marketing especially in utilizing social media as driver.
Mr. Wale has a Master’s degree in Retailing and Tourism Management from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.
He is also a consultant in tourism business management, hospitality management, medical tourism and presently an operational consultant with, Leisure and Hotel Management Limited and TA Consulting U.K.
He loves playing Scrabble, soccer, reading and traveling.
“The congress will enable us to examine and seek international opportunities available for collaborating and developing the medical tourism opportunities in Lagos State, while at the same time seeking new partners for advanced medical tourism visitations to other countries. We will also be looking at partners available for educational and training opportunities for tourism officers and certifications.”
